6 Tips to Help with GI Discomfort During Eating Disorder Recovery
GI discomfort is the WORST and it’s one of the most common symptoms during the beginning phase of recovery.
You start feeding yourself more appropriately and then BAM feels like every time you eat there’s a rock in your stomach. Not to mention gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and a lot more.
This obviously doesn’t help you wanting to eat, but the best thing you can do is keep eating and here is why…
This is super normal although unpleasant. Basically your GI tract hasn’t had all the energy and/or nutrients it needs for some time so it has slowed down causing food to sit in you GI tract longer than usual. This causes these symptoms.
The reason why you keep eating??? It’s the only thing that will fix the underlying root cause.
